ACT was one of 45 non-profits honored at the ceremony, all of which received a grant from the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation.

Arlington Community Trabajando Receives Homecorps Crisis Response Innovation Grant

Lawrence, MA – Arlington Community Trabajando (ACT) announced that Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley  awarded a Homecorps Crisis Response Innovation Grant. The grant program is the result of a nationwide settlement involving the nation’s five largest mortgage servicers and connection with predatory and unlawful foreclosures and servicing practices targeting low and moderate-income residents. The Crisis Response Innovation Grant is designed to assist Massachusetts’s homeowners and renters impacted by the foreclosure crisis and to mitigate the impact on their communities. The program also provides safeguards against future predatory lending practices like those that contributed to the real estate collapse in 2008.
